First ASCE Los Angeles Younger Member Forum Board Meeting

Greetings from your newly elected ASCE L.A. Younger Member Forum board! Join us every second Tuesday of the month and enjoy the social happy hour afterwards from the comfort of your own space. This first meeting brought together not only our new board members, but also new Metropolitan L.A. branch officers and representatives from our L.A. section universities. The meeting began with several introductions, ice breakers and brainstorming of game plans for new events to happen this year 2020-2021 and making virtual events successful along the way. LA YMF is more than excited and motivated to bring back favorite annual events as well as making a positive impact for our members, students, alumni and community at large during the pandemic.

Our first batch of events for the Fall included: community outreach to the homeless at Union Station; planning a government affairs outreach with (EIR); having a second Inclusion, Belonging, Diversity roundtable meeting-our newest committee; a webinar for professional development discussing higher education and the grad school path; and preparing for our virtual Student Night and Job Fair and Engineer’s Week in February 2021.
