ABOUT US
The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Los Angeles Younger Member Forum (LA YMF) provides an opportunity for young civil engineers to become familiar with the civil engineering community and get involved in ASCE early in their careers. While the official age range is 35 and younger, we welcome those that are "young-at-heart".
ASCE LA YMF allows younger engineers to give back to our communities, interact socially, and provide business contacts. While many of our members bring the enthusiasm they brought as college students in their students to our YMF, it is never to late to start your journey with ASCE! In addition, ASCE LA YMF provides younger members with recognition from their professional society and their peers.
We have a very active and diverse group, a multi-time recipient of ASCE's "Outstanding Younger Member Group" Award, but are always looking for new ideas and new members. We invite everyone to check out one of our events, joining one of our various committees, or taking on a leadership role and joining our board! As a volunteer-driven group, we are excited to have you in whatever capacity you are able to provide.

Your support has allowed us to continue the promotion of civil engineering throughout our communities, our future generations and amongst our colleagues. Every year your support allows us to continue running events such as our annual student scholarship awards banquet, K-12 student outreach visits, community service, technical presentations, Job Fair, etc. as well as provide Scholarships to our local students. ASCE LA YMF continues to build upon its long standing tradition of giving back to our communities through our volunteer activities and outreach efforts at the K-12, university, community, government, and professional levels. We encourage you to communicate with the current ASCE LA YMF Board to share a new idea or learn how you can find value in your ASCE membership. Help our group thrive by volunteering at our events and/or joining a committee.
