About the Event
The Metro Crenshaw/LAX Line will extend from the existing Metro Exposition Line at Crenshaw and Exposition Boulevards. The Line will travel 8.5 miles to the Metro Green Line and will serve the cities of Los Angeles, Inglewood and El Segundo; and portions of unincorporated Los Angeles County.
This technical tour will include a behind the scenes view of the project during one of the high profile full street closures/street restorations at Crenshaw/Exposition. This street closure is currently being used to restore the temporary roadway & support excavation of the underground station. This restoration includes installing all site civil work such as new utilities, backfill, curb/gutter, and paving! Several months of planning has been put in by the project team that required coordination with several agencies.
The tour will also include a sneak peak of the Exposition Underground station. Participants will be able to venture down from plaza, concourse, and invert levels of the underground guideway tunnel!
PPE is required (sturdy boots, hard hat, safety vest, safety glasses, and gloves). Remember to wear proper construction site attire (pants, no loose fitting clothing). Please arrive on time as late arrivals may not be able to partake in the tour. For more information about the project, see https://www.metro.net/projects/crenshaw_corridor/.
