If you still want more information or would like to hear the inspiration behind this event, we got you covered:
The Pacific Southwest Conference (PSWC) is ASCE's annual three day competition that allows students to put their civil or environmental engineering skills to the test. Throughout the course of the conference, students are able to compete in a variety of both technical and non-technical events. It is the culmination of months of hard work from the projects, officers, and members to put their student chapter in the best possible position. As the overarching organization that encompasses all the universities in the Los Angeles area, we as LA YMF, want to help in any way we can to prepare our student chapters for a successful run at PSWC this year. So while PSWC is taking place from April 4-6, 2019 at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, we will be giving our schools a head start.
We are hosting Mini PSWC this Sunday, November 18 at Hansen Dam for eight of our universities: CPP, CSUF, CSULA, CSULB, CSUN, LMU, UCLA, and USC. Over 150 students will be at this event from 9 AM to 3 PM. They will be competing in three main events that will also be at PSWC: Canoe Races, Mystery Event, and Volleyball. The events will be simulated exactly how it will be done at PSWC so that the student members can practice under the gametime situation and pressure that they otherwise would not experience until PSWC. We will be providing them snacks throughout the day and a full lunch. It’s going to be a great event.
