Order of the Engineer Ceremony

ASCE LA YMF will be hosting an Order of the Engineer Ceremony atop Los Angeles City Hall for all engineers and soon to be engineers that work around the LA area. The Order of the Engineer was initiated to foster a spirit of pride and responsibility in the engineering profession. The goal is to bridge the gap between training and experience, and to present to the public a visible symbol identifying the engineer. Participants will take the Obligation of the Engineer and receive a steel ring to be worn as a reminder of their commitment to high ethics and professionalism. The program will also include speeches by local engineers who impact our community including State Assemblywoman Luz Rivas and Los Angeles City Engineer Gary Lee Moore, along with a message from the Mayor of Los Angeles Eric Garcetti. The event will be held in the Tom Bradley Tower at City Hall. Please note that the main entrance to City Hall is actually on North Main St. and not Spring St. You will have to go through security and sign in prior to entering the building. Take the express elevators to the very top floor. There is public parking available approx. 2 blocks away from City Hall for $8. The lot typically accepts credit cards unless their machine is down. The address to the parking lot is 352 E Temple St, Los Angeles, CA 90012.
