MEET THE SPEAKERS

MATTHEW CRISTI

Matthew Cristi is currently a structural engineering graduate student at Stanford University. Matthew’s first internship was with Psomas as a transportation engineering intern. After, he worked as a structural engineering intern with KPFF Consulting Engineers. Matthew has had the opportunity to work on projects all throughout the Greater Los Angeles community in both of his internships. Matthew’s hobbies include volunteering, reading, running, and golfing.

ANISHA PATEL

Anisha is a currently a New Product Introduction Senior Program Manager at Tesla. In this exciting role, she uses innovative models to assure smooth, and timely, flow of parts for the next generation of Tesla vehicles. Indeed, having been at Tesla since 2014, Anisha has had the opportunity to work in several areas and build a strong foundation of multi-disciplinary skills needed to orchestrate programs in the cyber physical world of Tesla. Anisha received her MS and BS in Industrial Engineering from San Jose State University. In addition, given her penchant for tinkering and mechanical systems, she also added several core courses in Mechanical Engineering. For fun, Anisha practices Indian classical dance and always has her hands full with DIY projects at home.

JASON CHEN

Jason graduated from UCLA with an Electrical Engineering (EE) degree in 2006, starting his professional career in Southern California with roles in Applications Engineering and Product Management, supporting LCD monitors and Commercial A/V products.  In parallel to getting a working MBA, he transitioned into more focused EE design roles within the Commercial A/V and Medical Device industry.  In 2013, he returned to the Bay Area as a Program Manager for iPhone Operations at Apple.  Eight years later, Jason is still at Apple but as an Engineering Program manager focused on early stage Hardware Technology research and development.  In the past year, Jason's Sheltering In Place hobbies have been teaching his 18-month old son Trevor weird tricks, working way more hours than previously thought possible, and thinking about exercise but never following through.

NICK COLACION

Nick is a licensed Structural Engineer with the State of California, and earned his bachelor’s in Civil Engineering from Cal Poly Pomona, and master’s from Cal State Fullerton.  He joined Disney in 2019 and his main role is to manage the structural inspection program for all attractions at the Disneyland Resort.  This includes inspection, repair recommendation, and tracking of aging structural framing to ensure compliance with California Ride Law and a safe experience for all guests.  During Nick's downtime, he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, watching TV and movies, playing an occasional video game, and of course, taking his daughter to Disneyland.

STEPHANIE ORPILLA

Stephanie Orpilla is a Web Development Engineer at Amazon Web Services (AWS). She graduated from UCLA in 2016 with a Bachelors degree in Geography and Environmental Studies. She did some coding in college, and leveraged that skill to get her first full time job as a software developer at a startup. Outside of her day job, she teaches and practices yoga, spends a lot of time at the beach, and enjoys going to places with her Labradoodle, Teddy.

MATTHEW NOYES

Matthew Noyes is an early career Optical Engineer at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory where he designs, builds, and tests telescope instruments that allow for the discovery of Exoplanets and advance the search for alien life. He has a B.S. and Master’s in Optical Science from the University of Arizona. In his free time, he likes to rock climb, bake, and star gaze
