Girl Scouts at 20th St Elementary School

On Saturday, January 27th, ASCE LA YMF members Monica Morales of JACOBS, Chloe Gharios of LADWP, Christina Jones of LASAN, Shari Schwartzer of LANGAN, and Marcelino Ascensio of LABOE, along with volunteers Roxana Del Toro of JACOBS, Stephanie Kempa of USC, Racieli Andrada of California State Polytechnic University-Pomona, Jannie Han, Teresa Pham, and Allison Edgerley, civil engineers, volunteered at 20th Street Elementary School to provide underserved students with a chance to learn more about STEM through fun, hands-on engineering activities! The ASCE LA YMF members held a PVC pipeline and wood block structure construction booths and led magnetic slime, windmill, and chemical reaction booths. The girl scouts really enjoyed the activities as well as getting to know their female engineer mentors!
