CSULA Professional Development Workshop

On Friday, April 8, 2016, ASCE LA YMF volunteers held a workshop on the fourth floor of the engineering building at California State University, Los Angeles.

The evening began with a presentation on best practices for resumes. Students and professionals then engaged in an interactive question and answer session. LA YMF offered advice to the students about job interviews based on personal experience. Through responses to students’ questions, LA YMF discussed different civil engineering career paths, steps to licensure, and ethics. Students learned about upcoming ASCE social events and scholarship opportunities.

Finally, students met with LA YMF professionals on a one-to-one basis to go over feedback that was prepared based on resumes that students had submitted before the workshop.
