Diego Rivera Learning Center Dreams Big!

Monica Morales visited Diego Rivera Learning Center's STEAM Magnet school to share about her engineering career path from elementary school to present day as well as screen the Dream Big Film! She was able to relate to many of the students with her presentation explaining how she pursued her STEM dreams while also being a first-generation college student, low income, female and a minority, which create for a very small percentage of engineers today. We hope that her story was able to resonate with students to pursue a STEM career and to not only Dream Big but to work hard to achieve their dreams! The freshmen to senior students had many follow up questions to her presentation and one student even dressed up in a tie for the event!

After the question and answer session, the students watched Dream Big on their big screen in their gymnasium. There were several rounds of applause during the movie's awesome conclusions of engineering stories. It's safe to say that these high schoolers really loved the Dream Big Film!
